Ongesigneerd
Everything around us has been conceived and designed. The grey streetlight on the corner, the bends in the road, the slots of the mailbox, and the drain of the urinal. In the VPRO podcast Ongesigneerd you can hear the stories behind these inconspicuous objects, not only from designers and users, but also from historians and philosophers. What do these everyday designs say about us and our society?
27 November 2018 10:15 - 16 December 2018 17:00
At the end of 2018 _Ongesigneerd_ started its third season. In the nearly twenty episodes so far, stories can be heard about street signs, asylum seeker centres, vibrators, paving tiles, passports and cemeteries. In the pop-in expo visitors can not only hear some of these stories about inconspicuous designs, they can also experience the world of the everyday designs themselves in a specially designed installation.
On Thursday 29 November from 20.00 to 21.30 makers Tjitske Mussche and Laura Stek will present _Ongesigneerd Live_ at Het Nieuwe Instituut, a listening evening with the best bits in the series and live interviews about inconspicuous designs with photographer Hans van der Meer and zoo designer Thijs de Zeeuw.
_Ongesigneerd _is a project by Tjitske Mussche and Laura Stek in collaboration with VPRO. Illustrations: Sylvain Tegroeg Design and technical realisation: De Staalslagerij. The project is made possible by the NPO fonds.
